Seems a long time since we delivered SNC No.1 back in 1988 and now as we head towards 2020 we are happy to announce that #SNC100 Vol. 1 will drop early October. Having shelved the idea of a fat hardback book we've opted to do a couple of Volumes (maybe 4!) of #SNC100 where we mesh the sounds and artists of Now! with classic interviews from the Straight No Chaser Archive. In the fresh mix: Steam Down Meets IG Culture, James Brandon Lewis & Thomas Sayers Ellis (Heroes Are Gang Leaders), Kahil El' zabar (Ethnic Heritage Ensemble), Shirley Tetteh (Nardeydey, Kokoroko, Nerija, trombonist Rosie Turton, (Nerija), Bristol based Ishmael Ensemble and South African bassist Herbie Tsoaeli. On the Archive tip we have Pharoah Sanders, Yusef Lateef, Abbey Lincoln, Dr John, Fontella Bass, Flora Purim and McCoy Tyner.

It's heavyweight mix with label profiles of Soul Jazz and Brownwood Recordings and new (Undercurrents), charts and reviews.

Classic photography meets art director Ian Swift (Swifty) – the result: some powerful spreads.
