Groove Dis Exclusive. The SHOES cannot be stopped! After the mainstream NUMERO GROUP label tried to shut them down for their full-length cut-up composition SHOES OF NG (repurposed as Eccentric Breaks & Beats with out permission) and destroyed the remaining stock of SHOES OF MARVIN GAYE before it could hit the store shelves. SHOES lost a few steps but is back bigger than ever, doing what it do, chopping up funky soul classics. As usual they focus on one well known artist with crowd friendly hooks, this time ROY AYERS, and re-edit the grooves as only they can. SHOES takes on time-tested tracks with utmost respect for the originals while pushing the sounds into new directions of modern dancefloor mayhem.

"2000 BLACK" kicks off the EP with an extended intro that builds up to the main grooves and vocal refrains over layered break beats. The upbeat disco funk of "RUNNING AWAY" is chopped up and reworked for disco and mid-tempo breaks sets. Side B starts with "SUNSHINE," where chopped up piano and synths back up dubbed out vocals snippets, all over laid back head nodding drums. The last track of the EP, "SUPERSTAR," actually samples from "SUPERSTAR" and "RED, BLACK AND GREEN" over crackin' up tempo drums.

Lots of other little remix crews, but none of them have SHOES.
